Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of ovarian hyper-response to gonadotropin on pregnancy outcome during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation(COH)with GnRH agonist and FSH in IVF/ICSI cycles.Methods This retrospective study on 1 082 IVF/ICSI cycles performed in our reproductive center compared pregnancy outcomes between high responder group,e.g.peak E2 11 010 pmol/L on the day of HCG administration or 15 retrieved oocytes,and normal responder group,e.g.1 835 pmol/L peak E2 11 010 pmol/L on the day of HCG administration and 5~15 retrieved oocytes.Results High responders achieved more high-quality embryos.But no statistically significant differences in fertilization rate,cleavage rate,implantation rate,pregnancy rate,miscarriage rate was found between the two groups.Conclusions High response of ovary to gonadotropin stimulation does not affect IVF/ICSI outcome,but precaution should be taken to prevent OHSS.
