Abstract

Solid superacid catalyst of SO_4~(2-)/Fe_2O_3 was prepared by calcination of (NH_4)_2SO_4·(Fe_2(SO_4)_3·24H_2O), its catalytic activity was measured with esterification of ethyl acetate. The preparation conditions of SO_4~(2-)/Fe_2O_3 have been investigated, that is, the calcining temperature is 550℃, the calcining time is 4 h. When the catalyst is 2.0 g, the mole ratio of alcohol to acid is 1.6∶1, the reflux time is 2.0 h, the yield of esterification is 85.1%.
