Trabeculectomy combined with cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation through a small tunnel incision under scleral flap for the treatment of glaucoma combined with cataract

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of trabeculectomy combined with cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation through 5.5mm tunnel incision under scleral flap in the treatment of glaucoma with cataract.Methods The surgery was performed on 56 eyes with cataract and glaucoma.Trabeculectomy combined with cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation were performed through 5.5mm tunnel incision under scleral flap.Results The average intraocular pressure(IOP)was reduced from(27.60±5.80)mmHg to(14.60±5.30)mmHg after serious postoperative complication.Conclusions The surgery of trabeculectomy combined with cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation through tunnel incision under scleral flap is safe,effective and economic for glaucoma combined with cataract.
