Abstract
In this paper,we use the panel threshold model to analyze the China's urban-rural income gap problem in urbanization process during 1993-2007,research results show that the level of urbanization on the urbanrural income gap has a significant threshold effect. When the level of urbanization is lower than 0.456,the urbanization role is not significant.Once the level of urbanization overcoms that value, the urbanization will significantly narrow the urban-rural income gap.At present, the urbanization of China is on the transition period from the low level to high, and the urbanization of the northeast and the east has overcome this threshold value, and the middle and the west are also close to it,so accelerating the urbanization would be an important way to narrow the urban-rural income gap.
