Survey and Exploration of Sports Essence from Cross-cultural Perspective

The controversy about current situation,substance and two main factions of sports concept is discussed in sports theory of our nation.The cores of the two factions are analyzed and the fundamental reason which prevents the two reach a consensus is pointed out:The battle of sports concept is a reflection of the struggle between Chinese and Western cultures.Cross-cultural perspective is deemed as a possible way to solve the sports concept debate.Spiritual value of western sports and subject spirit of human disregarded in Chinese tradition feudal autocracy are analyzed.It is considered that advocating western sports spirit will contribute to restore and activate the subjectivity and creatively inherent of Chinese culture.And sports is deemed as a educational activity in form of physical games,developing spirit of self-improvement of human.
