Abstract
Synthesis of butanone 1,2-propanediol ketal catalyzed by iodine was studied. Influence of butanone/1,2-propanediol molar ratio, catalyst loading and reaction time on the yield of target product was investigated. Optimum condition was obtained as follows: ketone/1,2-propanediol molar ratio = 11.3, catalyst loadings = 0.3% of the mass of reactants reaction time = 1.0 h. Butanone 1,2-propanediol ketal yield of 70.3% was obtained under the optimum condition.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
