Abstract
This paper introduces space truss design of the steel roof of a high-rise building.The partial 3-layers grid system is chosen according to its mechanical characteristic,which has good mechanical and economical performances.The model computation is very important,especially the restraint condition of the support structure.It is suggested that both free and elastic restraint support should be considered when the support conditions is complicated.The interaction between the space truss structure and supporting concrete structure is analyzed,and the analytical method is also discussed.Both the simplified method specified in code and modal analysis method by response spectrum are implemented in seismic response analysis.The mode of space truss structure reflects its mechanical characteristics.The importance of the concept design is emphasized and structural design should not entirely depend on the precise computation.
