Abstract
There appeared great changes in the marriage customs in Northeast China during the late Qing Dynasty and the early period of the Republic of China,as could be seen in the transition of marriage life,marriage rituals etc.More civilized marriage customs came into being,which emerged from the co-action of economic,cultural,political and psychological factors.This transition promoted the innovation of marriage customs and brought some unstable social factors as well.All in all,there is no doubt that it helped construct the foundation of modern marriage customs in Northeast China.
