Abstract

sodium periodate has selective oxidation effect to fiber and can make two secondary hydroxide radicals of cellulose chain unit oxidized to formyl group. Thus, the cellulose structure is changed and its application scope is expanded. This paper summarized oxidation mechanism, characterization methods of oxidation degree, influencing factors of oxidation degree and the application of oxidized cellulose in medicine, function materials and textile. On the basis of analyzing existing research results, this paper forecasted the problems concerned in the study of oxidized cellulose so as to achieve development of high-performance oxidized cellulose and multi-field application.Meanwhile, future development direction of oxidized cellulose was also discussed.
