The Technology and Application of Streaming Media in the Network Instruction

With the popularity of computer, the development of multimedia technology and the increase of Internet, the new opportunity has brought to the distance education. With the development of network and streaming media technology, more and more distance education websides have used the streaming media technology as the major method in their network instruction. The paper introduces the process of steaming media transmission and the net transport protocols supporting the streaming media transmission. In the end, the paper gives us the typical applications of streaming media technology based on the Windows Media Services in the network education.
