On Confucius' educational thoughts

Abstract

Confucius starts a new era in the education history in China.His private education promotes the spread of knowledge to more social ranks,starts the age of letting a hundred schools of thought contend in the field of ideology and culture and has had great influence on the development of the later Chinese societies.Resting upon practical experience,his educational thoughts are complete and systematic,involving every corner of educational theories.Besides,his thoughts are creative and practical.Among them,the principles of teaching students according to their aptitude and elicitation method of teaching have played an instructive role in the education history at all times and in all countries.A study of his thoughts surely will cast new light on the problems on the education today.
