Abstract
Based on the field irrigation experiment data, the water-consuming rule of summer maize, the effects of water stress on growth, development and water use efficiency under different water treatment are studied in this paper. The results show that the water consumption quantity during the whole growth of summer maize under light water deficit, medial water deficit and severe water deficit is decreased by 11.9%,15.4%,24.4%,respectively,as compared with conventional irrigation. The highest daily water consumption is in the stage of node elongation to tasseling for the conventional irrigation treatment, while it is in the stage of tasseling to grain filing for the water deficit treatment. When the soil moisture in the stage of seeding and booting is more than 55% of the field water capacity, the effects of water deficit on growth, development and dry matter accumulation are not great, the compensation effect is obvious after re-watering,and the water use efficiency is enhanced under the condition of yield increase or decrease not too much in the end.But when the soil water moisture was less than 50%,the growth, blight is exerted on the development and dry matter accumulation of summer maize, the compensation effects is not obvious after re-watering,the yield and water use efficiency all decrease.
