Abstract
Lycopene plays a positive role in the prevention of certain types of cancer or chronic disease. In recent years, lycopene is a hot topic in the researching area of function food. This review introduces advances in physicochemical properties, biological synthesis, absorption distribution, extraction analysis, physiological function, production application and breeding progresses of lycopene.
