Abstract
Ethyl acetate is synthesized from glacial acetic acid and absolute alcohol in the presence of Lewis solid acid catalyst. The influences of the four kinds of Lewis solid acid(ferric chloride, aluminium chloride anhydrous, antimony chloride and stannic tetrachloride) and their dosage on esterification rate are tested. The results showed that the glacial acetic acid 6 ml(0.1 mol),ethyl alcohol 9.5 ml (0.2 mol),the reaction in a state of reflux at 80~90 ℃ for 1.0 h,the esterification rates of aluminium chloride and ferric chloride were reached 92% and 91%, respectively.
