Abstract

An experiment has been carried out to establish the optimal operating conditions for a combined treatment of bamboo charcoal and microbes(BCM) to remove COD from biogas slurry. The treatment shows a high removal efficiency when the bamboo charcoal is applied at the rate of 30.00 g/L,inoculated bacterium solution is at the concentration of 2%,pH value between 6.0~8.0,DO between 1.70~2.00 mg/L,and HRT ws 48 h.The removal dynamics can be described as a first order equation. The synergistic reaction between bamboo charcoal adsorption and microbial degradation(50.35%) can be one major reason that BCM shows great removal efficiency when compared with the separated treatment by bamboo-charcoal or microbes.
