There are three important standards in judging whether Sixteen Kingdoms by CUI Hong is lost or not. The first is whether it is recorded or not by various historical documents.The second is whether it is cited or not by ancient books many times. The third is finding the evidence to show the incomplete version exists by comparing and contrasting the edition by TU Jie-sun with other ancient books. Edition by CUI Hong does not disappear in Northern Song Dynasty and still could be seen until mid-Ming Dynasty. Now basic clues of its popularity can be found. TU Jie-sun collects scattered historical facts of incomplete version which probably disappears at the turn of Ming and Qing Dynasty and this book comes into being. Analyzing its content of edition by TU Jie-sun,we can see some of the content is not found in other ancient books. This is obvious evidence about the incomplete version being kept until mid-Ming Dynasty and TU Jie-sun's collecting scattered historical facts of the incomplete version.
