Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of early rehabilitation training on the functional rehabilitation of knee joint after operation of femoral shaft fracture. Methods 64 cases of femoral shaft fracture were divided into the control group and experimental group randomly. The patients in experimental group received early rehabilitation training including continuous passive motion, active movement against gravity, joint flexion and joint movement against the resistance movement, partially weight bearing walking, until the full weight-bearing walking. The control group had no clear plan of rehabilitation training because of condition restriction. After 3 months function of knee joint was compared. Results The excellent and good rate was 88.1% in experimental group while 54.6% in control group, there was significant difference (P 0.05). Conclusion The early rehabilitation training has the advantage of abating muscular atrophy and joint contracture, which is the optimal method for the functional rehabilitation of knee joint.
