Environmental Economic Analysis of Tourism Carrying Capacity

The present article, on the basis of the analysis of the definition of tourism-carrying capacity, explores the necessity of the existence of tourism-carrying capacity by the use of relevant environment-economical theory. The properties of society, economy the tourism resource has lead to the conflicts between public welfare and tourism development and environmental protection. The property of the Quasi-common Pool Resource also leads to the external diseconomics in its development. Under this circumstance the tourism industry will have great trouble in development. In order to make a balance between public welfare and tourism development and environmental protection, effective measures are to be taken. As one of the effective tools in the achievement of the maintainable goal for tourism industry it is reasonable and necessary for the existence of tourism-carrying capacity.
