Abstract
The lower Karamay reservoir in the 8th zone of northwestern Junggar Basin belongs to alluvial fan sedimentation in piedmont continental basin margin,can be divided into three subfacies of top,middle and edge fan and 8 microfacies based on full recognition of the depositional model and characteristics of alluvial fan according to comprehensive analysis of outcrop,core and well log data. The characteristics and distribution of each microfacies are described in detail. The relationship between OIP controlled by sedimentary microfacies and residual oil distribution is analyzed combining with development performance,thus provided geologic basis for redevelopment.
