Abstract
Wu'erher Formation is the favorable exploration zones in the Northwestern Margin of Junggar Basin. In this paper,by means of the core observation, identification of thin sections, the comprehensive analysis of data of well logging and logging,we studied the sedimentary facies. The result shows that the Wu 'erher Formation sedimentary environment is composed of alluvial fan, subaqueous fan and fan delta. Alluvial fan can be divided into three subfacies of top, middle and edge fan and 9 microfacies. Fan delta can be divided into two subfacies of fan delta plain, fan delta front and 5 microfacies. There is no fan prodelta in study area. At last, this paper discusses that tectonic movement control sedimentary facies in the studied area under the background of structure in the northwest edge Junggar basin.
