Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of TRAIL and DR5(death receptor 5 of TRAIL) in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and carcinoma of the cervix. Methods: The expression of DR5 in 56 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia,54 cases of carcinoma of the cervix and 10 cases of normal cervical mucosa were detected by immunohistochemical method. Results: The expression of DR5 increased from normal cervical mucosa, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia to carcinoma of the cervix(P0.05).The increased expression of DR5 was observed in moderate and poor differentiation degree of carcinoma of the cervix compared to high differentiation degree(P0.05).There were no significant differences in the histology type and age(P0.05).Conclusion: DR5 may be correlated to the occurrence and the development of carcinoma of the cervix, and also provide potential instructive significance for future clinical application of TRAIL and TRAIL and antibody.
