A Communitarian Critique of Liberalism

Abstract

Communitarian criticisms of liberalism occur in three main terms: universalism versus particularism,the debate over self and the value of community.The criticisms have evolved from fairly abstractive philosophy to concrete politics,namely from philosophical basis of liberalism to realistic political projects.Communitarianism resonates most in East Asia because of both political and cultural reasons.
