Abstract
Objective To investigate the safety and practicality of medical abortion with misoprostol and mifepristone in women with 10~15 weeks'pregnancy. Methods 110 women with pregnancy were enrolled in this study from October 2006 to September 2010.The 110 women with pregnancy were randomly divided into 2 groups:medical abortion group and control group.55 women received mifepristone and misoprostol in the medical abortion group.55 women were given intra-uterine insertion of urethral catheter for termination of pregnancy in control group. The vital signs, stages of labor, abdominalgia, complete abortion rate, rate of bleeding and infection, and repregnancy rate were observed in women in both groups. Results The vital signs of patients in both groups were stable. The degree of bleeding was different between the two groups. The stages of labor were shorter and the degree of abdominalgia was little in the medical abortion group than control group. All patients got succssefully complete abortion and had no abortion of repregnancy, and the infection rate were 3.6% in the medical abortion group. The rate of abortion failrure, rate of infection, rate of abortion of repregnancy was 16.4%,7.3%,and 5%,respectively in control group. Conclusion The medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol is safe and feasible, and the efficiency is better than abortion with intra-uterine insertion of urethral catheter.
