Abstract

Objective The present study was conducted to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of epidemic outbreak of acute communicable diseases in 2004 in Guizhou province in order to get an insight into the epidemic regularity and provide a scientific basis for constituting the strategies of prevention and treatment. Methods The data from 314 reports on the epidemic outbreaks of acute communicable diseases occurring in 2004 in Guizhou province were systematically analyzed. Results(1) The epidemic outbreaks in schools were predominant mainly affecting students.(2) The outbreaks of acute communicable disease involving respiratory and intestinal tracts prevailed. Conclusion Strengthening the management of school sanitation should be taken as a major means to effectively control the epidemic situation.
