Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical significance on concentration of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in patients with advanced lung cancer. Methods: Enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay(ELISA) was used to determine the protein concentration of serum VEGF in 51 cases with advanced lung cancer(experiment group) before and after the treatment, the clinic efficacy of patients were evaluated after treatment.10 healthy peoples were collected as control group. Results: 51 patients with advanced lung cancer patients before treatment, median serum VEGF(101.28 ng/L) were higher than control group median(23.74 ng/L)(P=0.000 6).In 51 cases with advanced lung cancer, there were 33 patients with effective treatment(CR+PR+SD),accounted for 64.7%,18 cases with ineffective therapy(PD),accounting for 35.3%,the therapeutic efficacy in patients with serum concentrations(70.00±33.88) ng/L was significantly lower concentration before treatment(90.30±61.12) ng/L,the difference was statistically significant(P=0.006 5),serum concentrations of patients with tumor progression were(101.60±52.79) ng/L,with the concentration before treatment(121.41±74.63) ng/L similar, the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.240 7).Conclusion: Serum VEGF can be used as monitoring of the disease in advanced lung cancer to determine the efficacy and a useful indicator of prognosis.
