Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of β-amyloid precursor protein in neurons of hippocampus CA1 and CA3 regions after cerebral ischemia in human. Methods The neuronal damage was examined by using of HE staining, and the expression of β-APP was determined with immunohistochemistry in the hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions in control group and 2~6h,7h~1d,2d~,3d~,4d~,5~6d and 7d~ groups after cerebral ischemia.β-APP positive cells were counted in five microscopic fields at a magnification of 400 times. SPSS 11.5 statistical package was used. Results The β-APP was rising in 2h~6h and peaked in 4d~ ( 32.52±1.36)after cerebral ischemia, later β-APP was higher than that in control group. Conclusion The expression of β-APP is up-regulated after cerebral ischemia. It might aggravated cerebral ischemic injury.
