Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of cyclooxygena se -2(COX-2)in ovarian cancer. Methods RT-PCR and immunohistochemical method were used to investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 in 38 patients wit h ovarian cancer. Results COX-2 protein expressions were detected in 23 of 38 ovarian cancers and the positive rate was 61% . COX-2 mRNA expressions were detected in 33 of 38 ovarian cancers and the positive rate was 87% . No COX-2 protein and mRNA expression was detecte d in 20 normal ovaries. Conclusion Increased expression of COX-2 protein and mR NA in human ovarian cancer, and it might be the important factor in development of ovarian cancer.
