Abstract
BJ-1A,derived from the cross of Jinfeng 5 A,a BT-type japonica CMS line, and the selected plants from the F3 generation of the multiple cross of Qiannannuo 4////Pei'ai 64S///7001S/92H-12∥7001S,through the successive backcrossing method,is a japonica CMS line with good grain quality developed by Bijie Agricultural Research Institute of Guizhou Province. In August,2006,it was technically certified in Guizhou. BJ-1A has a uniformed population with stable agronomic characters,a complete male sterility with 100% of male sterile plants,a high natural stigma exsertion rate (33%~38%) and out-crossing rate (45%~65%),and a high combining ability. One of its hybrids Bijingza 2035 (BJ-1A/ZC2035) performed very well with a high grain yield in the regional trials of Guizhou Province.
