Abstract
Xingtai western mountain area is situated in the southwest part of Hebei Province. It belongs to the southern area of Taihang mountain ranges. There are 823 species of wild seed plants, belonging to 93 families and 393 genera in area. Its floristic components are complex, showing wide connection with other floras. It shows clear temperate in nature, tropical in origin, and with transitional and ancient characteristics. It is concluded that the flora is originated at late Cretaceous and formed at late Tertiary in the Cenozoic. Its floristic components mainly originated locally, partly came from southwest subtropical zone, and the south tropic-subtropical zone, partly from the northeast cold temperate zone and a few from the west Mediterranean area.
