Abstract

The ultrasound was used on cotton fabric pretreatment, and orthogonal tests were designed for selection of factors such as temperature, time, salt amount and ultrasonic frequency.Values of reactive dye were analyzed as dyeing rate and fixing rate.Orthogonal test results showed that the optimum dyeing process was under the ultrasound of 70℃,80 min,20 g/L NaCl and 40 kHz ultrasonic frequency. The cotton fabric dyeing rate and color fixing rate reached 85.6% and 78.5%,respectively.Based on ultrasonic processing method,SEM images showed that cotton fiber become strong, full, increasing of specific surface area after ultrasonic treatment, and the utilization of reactive dyes were improved, while dyeing time and the amount of salt were reduced.
