Abstract
Before Lu Xun passed away,SHEN Cong-wen had ever made some reviews of LU Xun,from which we can find the complexity in SHEN Cong-wen’s understanding and evaluation of LU Xun.On one hand,SHEN Cong-wen,from the perspective of literary noumenon,recognized LU Xun’s great achievements in short stories and their great influence,and identified himself with LU Xun as a litterateur.On the other hand,SHEN denied the political and social significance of LU Xun’s miscellaneous essays,and took on a spurning attitude towards LU Xun as a thinker and fighter.This put SHEN Cong-wen in a position between alienation and acceptance as far as the understanding and evaluation of LU Xun is concerned,which reflected a complex and indecipherable attitude towards LU Xun on the part of SHEN Cong-wen.
