Abstract
Research on Lu Xun,which was established during the revolutionary period of China, reached its second climax in 1980s,when Wang Furen's research model replaced Chen Yong's research model, which means that the Enlightenment in China terminated the authoritative interpretation of Lu Xun by the revolutionary culture in the field of studies of Lu Xun.Enlightenmentism in China describes Lu Xun's anti-feudal ideas by using the concepts of individualism and humanism, thus avoiding many research topics concerning Lu Xun and the course of the Chinese society. In 1980s,Qian Liqun's research on Lu Xun presents Lu Xun's spiritual world mainly through an analysis of Wild Grass and other texts by Lu Xun.Interpretations of Lu Xun's ideas of intermediate things constitute an important link of Lu Xun's research on history ackowledged in 1980s: the framework for research on Lu Xun moved from Enlightenmentism to modernism.Modernism raises the propositions of value which cannot be tolerated by Enlightenmentism.Researchers like Wang Hui,Wang Xiaoming, etc.reveal the crisis of identity in 1980s through interpretations of Lu Xun,but the ways in which modernism raises questions cannot possibly form forceful dialogues with Lu Xun's studies of history, nor can they be used to discuss Lu Xun's thoughts in combination with social changes and developments in China. At last, modernism put an end to the studies of Lu Xun in 1980s by negating Lu Xun and providing simple solutions to the questions of value.
