Characteristic analysis of tide and tidal currents in Penglai sea area

Abstract
Based on the hydrologic data of October 2007,the characteristics of tide and tidal currents in both east and west coasts of Penglai,controlled by different tidal wave systems,were analyzed in this paper.The analysis result indicates that the tide of east coast of Penglai is regular semidiurnal tide,while the tide of west coast of Penglai is irregular semidiurnal tide.The tidal current of east and west coasts of Penglai is also irregular semidiurnal current.Tidal wave,that is similar to progressive wave,propagates from the north Yellow Sea to Bohai Sea.
