Abstract

Based on the analysis of the status and fundamental functions of ports in modern logistics, the author discusses the necessity for the Shanghai port to develop its logistics functions. The author also analyses the advantages of the Shanghai port in developing its logistics functions and proposes some suggestions for the development.
