Abstract
In this paper, there is an analysis about the braking mode of the 300 km/h electric motor train unit that will be designed soon in China. Based on the design of the XianFeng and ZhongYuan Star high-speed motor train units, a kind of reasonable braking mode is proposed with theoretical calculation and comparison: the alloy forged steel wheel-mounted disc brake, rheostatic brake and regenerative brake for motor cars, the alloy forged steel wheel-mounted disc brake and disc eddy current brake for trailers. The load on the brake disc and brake pad can be lightened with this kind of configuration and the brake capacity of the brake equipment can be improved to a great extent. Therefore, the technical conditions of the braking force and braking distance can be satisfied.
