Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value and therapeutic effect of selective arterial angiography and interventional embolization in treatment of traumatic massive hemorrhage. Methods 34 cases with traumatic massive hemorrhage who had been in failure of conservative therapy,Seldinger technique was adopted for selective arterial angiography and then embolized the feeding arteries branches with gelfoam and(or) steel coils after super-selection.Results 34 cases were treated with embolization, except 1 case died of brain trauma after 2 days,of which 32 cases of bleeding was controlled after the first embolization,1 case received second embolization, the rate of success achieved 97.1%.Shock symptoms disappeared and blood pressure was elevated and returned to normal.Post embolism syndrome was observed in 21 patients and was relieved after symptomatic treatment, there was no serious complication occurred.Hepatic function and renal function returned to normal after 1 month. Conclusion Interventional embolization for traumatic massive hemorrhage was a simple, safe and efficient therapeutic method and possessed high clinical value.
