Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of sputum suction for infant by softening the front suction tube. Methods From January 2010 to February 2011,60 pneumonia infants requiring sputum suction were randomly divided into observational and control groups, with 30 cases in each group. The suction tube was soften in the experimental group and normal suction was adopted in the control group.Comparison was conducted on the status of mucosal bleeding between the two groups. Results Sputum suction was performed for 30 times with 5(16.7%) bleeding cases in the observational group. While Sputum suction was performed for 30 times with 11(36.7%) bleeding cases. There was significan differences on the above items between the two groups(χ~2 =28.79,P0.05).Conclusion The sputum suction with softened suction tube can reduce the mucosal injury, enhance the sputum suction security, and improve the quality of clinical nursing.
