Abstract

In 1936,Tao Xingzhi was engaged in publicizing the Chinese people's anti-Japanese war in the U.S.A.as well as in some European countries.He was on the wanted list issued by the National Government at that time because of his involvement in the lawsuit concerning seven gentlemen of the National Salvation Society.At this critical moment,Situ Meitang,an overseas Chinese leader in the USA,supported Tao Xingzhi financially and guaranteed his life security,which enabled him to continue his anti-Japanese activities.Later in Chongqing,Tao introduced Situ Meitang to Zhou Enlai.Situ Meitang also participated in the founding of new China.The friendship between Tao Xingzhi and Situ Meitang is a deed praised far and wide in modern Chinese political history.
