Abstract
Using semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization method,an emulsion of short-chain fluorinated acrylic copolymer is prepared with hexafluorobutyl methacrylate( Actyflon-G02),methyl methacrylate( MMA),butyl acrylate( BA) and acrylic acid( AA) as raw materials, and then the emulsion is applied to cotton fabric finishing. The structure of emulsion is characterized by FT-IR,XPS,particle size determination and other techniques. The results show that the reaction has a monomer conversion rate of 97. 75% and a gel rate of 0. 56%. The solid content of the emulsion is 32. 5%,the average particle size is 101. 0 nm,and the water absorption rate of the film is 8. 12%.The emulsion also features good stability and can significantly improve the water contact angle of cotton fabric.
