EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATION ON GERMICIDAL PROPERTY OF IODOPHOR DISINFECTION SOLUTION

In order to know the germicidal efficacy and related properties of iodophor disinfection solution,carrier quantitative germicidal test was used to carry out laboratory observation and field trial.Results: The iodophor disinfection solution containing available iodine 25 mg/L with a 10 min contact time killed 100% of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and the disinfection solution containing available iodine 100 mg/L with a 10 min contact time killed also 100% of Candida albicans.Wiping disinfection of volunteers' hands with stock solution of iodophor disinfection solution for 3 min could reduce the natural bacteria on hands by 97.61% in average.After the iodophor disinfection solution was stored at 37℃ for 3 months,its available iodine content decreased by 7.75%.Immersion in iodophor disinfection solution for 72 h caused no corrosion of stainless steel,moderate corrosion of aluminum and heavy corrosion of carbon steel and copper.Conclusions: Iodophor disinfection solution has high efficacy in killing vegetative forms of bacteria and fungi.It is stable in storing,but has significant corrosiveness.
