Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinical relationship between nodular goiter and coexistent thyroid cancer and the incidence rate, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Methods Retrospective clinical analysis of 176 cases of nodular goiter with coexistent thyroid cancer, was done, including clinical features ,diagnosis and prognosis. Results Preoperative diagnosis rate was 50.5%.There were 136 cases of papillary cancer,8 cases of coexistent follicular cancer.4 cases of medullary cancer and 25 cases of minimal cancer. Conclusion The incidence rate of nodular goiter with coexistent thyroid cancer is increasing. With the continuous improvement of the diagnostic technology, nodular thyroid with coexistent thyroid cancer preoperative clinical diagnosis rate increases greatly. The prognosis is good after the operation.
