The Correlation of CD44V6 and MMP-9 Protein Expression withInvasiveness and Metastasis in Gastric Carcinoma

Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of CD44V6,MMP-9 protein and invasion and metastasis in gastric carcinoma and to investigate the correlation between the expression of CD44V6 and MMP-9 protein.Methods The expression of CD44V6 and MMP-9 protein were detected with MaxvisionTM immunohistochemical method in 86 surgically resected tumor Results There were no significant correlation between CD44V6 and MMP-9 expression tumor size and tumor differentiation (P0.05),but significant correlation between their expression and invasion and lymph metastasis and PTNM stage.There is a close relationship between expression of MMP-9 and the expression of CD44V6(r=0.385,P0.01).Conclusion CD44V6 and MMP-9 are useful markers of predicting the metastatic potential of gastric cancer,and detectation of their expression may be useful for evaluating prognosis and guiding treatment.There is a close relationship between the expression of CD44V6 and MMP-9.The result of their coexamination might be useful to predict lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer.
