Abstract
Objective To observer the effect of lycopene on liver fibrosis in mice induced by ConA,and analyze the semiquantitative scoring(SSS score),changes of mice morphological liver and pathological HE staining before and after the intervention. Methods 64 Kunming mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:normal group(8 cases),model group(8 cases),prevention group with 8 rats and treatment group(40 cases),and treatment group was divided into 5 groups according to the treatment time (1-5 weeks),with 8 rats in each group. Murine hepatic fibrosis model were established by intraperitoneal injection of Concanavalin A(Con A) for 8 weeks. Lycopene was administered to 20 mg (1 times a day) by gastric perfusion at the same time of modeling in prevention group,and after modeling successfully in treatment group. The changes of hepatic fibrosis semiquantative scoring levels and the murine liver morphological and pathological HE staining were observed at the same time by comparison to normal group and model group. Results Murine liver pathology staining results improved obviously in prevention group and treatment group. Conclusion Lycopene can robust against experimental murine liver fibrosis,inhibit the development of hepatic fibrosis,and may reverse the formation of liver fibrosis.
