On Zhuang Shuzu's Thought Concerning the Study of Confucian Classics

In the history of Confucian Classics in the Qing Dynasty,Zhuang Shuzu was a figure standing between Zhuang Cun and Liu Fenglu.The failure in the political career made it possible for him to devote himself to the academic study and he wrote a lot of works on Confucian Classics.Zhuang Shuzu's thoughts on Confucian Classics have the dual characteristics.On one hand, his thoughts originated from Hanxue.And on the other hand he gave priority to the study of the West Han Dynasty when he was(explaining) Confucian Classics.His roots to Hanxue were reflected in the attitude of his study and methodology,which was influenced by the Hanxue during the period between Emperors Qianlong and Jiaqing.However,for the later development of Confucian Classics,it is his study of the West Han Dynasty when explaining Confucian Classics that has the historic significance.
