Evaluation of calcium hydroxide as root canal filling material in primary teeth

Abstract

AIM:To investigate the therapeutic effect of Ca(OH) 2 iodoform paste used for root canal filling of primary teeth. METHODS:To fill the root canals of the primary teeth using two different materials,one group was filled with Ca(OH) 2 iodoform paste and the other was filled with ZOE iodoform paste. RESULTS:The research group got the even effective rate of 84.1%,and the control group 81.4%,there was no significant difference between the two groups( P 0.05).CONCLUSION: Ca(OH) 2 iodofrom paste is a good material for root canal filling of primary teeth.
