Probe into peer education about safer sex act and its influence on the behavior and attitude of students of science and engineering

Abstract

Objective] To change the attitude of university students' sex act by means of peer education about safer sex act. [Methods] An AIDS/STD/Safer Sex act peer education program among the first-year students of a certain science and engineering university was carried out in Shanghai from September to December in 1999. [Results] The program has greatly changed the behavior intention and attitude of university students about their sex before and extra marriage and enhanced their awareness of using condom. [Conclusion] The program of the peer education about safer sex act has been proved effective.
