Abstract
With the tide-surge numerical mode under the action of surface wind stress, which is dependent on the age of waves in the growth stage, the water level variation of Bohai Sea during 2 wind processes was studied by numerical simulation, and the surface wind stress coefficient under action of waves was calculated.Case study shows that the surface wind stress with consideration of wave action is 1.5 times of that without consideration of wave action, and the water level increases 16 cm if wave action is taken into account. The simulated results were in good agreement with the measured data. Therefore, the wave action is necessary to be considered in numerical simulation of tide-surges.
