Abstract
This paper reports the effect of drought on physiological traits and antioxidant enzymes activity of wild and cultivated soybean.Root vigor,cell membrane permeability,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,catalase(CAT)activity,peroxide(POD)activity,and malondialdehyde(MDA)content were measured for soybeans planted in soil with relative water contents of 80%,70%,60%,50%,40%,and 30%.The results indicated that wild soybean had advantages of physiological changes over the cultivated soybean,in particular in terms of the root vigor,antioxidant enzymes activity,and cell membrane permeability and MDA content,suggesting that wild soybean is more tolerant to drought stress than the cultivated soybean.
