Abstract

In Song Dynasty, Fujian was in rapid progress both in matter culture and spirit culture. However, there existed serious imbalance in the distribution both of the Jinshi(successful candidates in the highest imperial examination) and of the talents listed in The History of Song Dynasty, that is, more in the eastern and less in the western, more in the northern and less in the southern. The imbalance resulted from the social economy, education, established folk opinions on study and other aspects in Fujian.
