Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of opening anterior preperitoneal hernia repair and Lichtenstein hernia repair, and to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these two operative approaches. Methods A total of 134 patients with inguinal hernia were randomly assigned to receive either opening anterior preperitoneal hernia repair(n=74) and Lichtenstein hernia repair(n=63).The differences in clinical efficacy were observed and analyzed between the two groups. Results Opening anterior preperitoneal hernia repair approach was significantly superior to Lichtenstein hernia repair approach in postoperative pain, foreign body sensation and postoperative recurrence(P0.05).Conclusion Compared with Lichtenstein hernia repair, opening anterior preperitoneal hernia repair can reduce operation time and postoperative discomfort.
